Very true, I had a computer repair technician tell me about Ubuntu about 20 years ago and I've been thinking about it ever since! lol.
Bought a USB flash drive with Ubuntu 19.04 yesterday for $13 on ebay. Time to upgrade....
Nice OS, easy to use.
♡♡♡♡♡
And hack proof!
Pretty much, LOL!

That's what always attracted me to it but getting on VPN is a great step to take also.
Ubuntu will self install, and leave your OS intact. It will let you choose which to run, when you boot the computer.

That is super slick! If you use Ubuntu do you still need the security of a VPN?
I will do both. Put your computer on a router, even if it is alone, because they can see one past the modem. That way they can only see the router, and NOT the computer.
I intend to use the VPN on the Anrdoid tablet (since the free one is only one device.
But I have run two decades without viruses or malware with Ubuntu!
