Abandon the Superficial Tools

Computing Forever is a youtube channel worth following.  The censorship by Tech giants makes no sense to me.  While this one has been demonetized by Google it has a large following.  The producer of the channel doesn’t pull any punches.  Dave Cullen speaks his mind plainly, and avoids political correctness.

The most recent video is linked above.  In this “HOW IS THIS A THING” episode Cullen comments on a few current news stories related to censorship.  It is worth the ten minutes.

The censorship isn’t working on me.  It actually helps me to set my priorities.  I decide what I’m going to learn about online based on who is being censored.  For example, I’ve learned much from Alex Jones that I wouldn’t have learned if Satan’s censorship brigade hadn’t targeted him.  Another man I’m grateful for learning about because of big tech’s targeting is Tommy Robinson in Britain.

Robinson was recently deplatformed by all the big boys.  He makes the powers-that-be in England uncomfortable.  The people love him.  Following him led me to a new source of uncensored speech called Telegram.  I like what the creators say in their FAQ.

“Big internet companies like Facebook or Google have effectively hijacked the privacy discourse in recent years. Their marketers managed to convince the public that the most important things about privacy are superficial tools that allow hiding your public posts from the people around you. Adding these superficial tools enables companies to calm down the public and change nothing in how they are turning over private data to marketers and other third parties.”

The inventors of Telegram conclude, “We think that the two most important components of Internet privacy should be instead:

1. Protecting your private conversations from snooping third parties, such as officials, employers, etc.

2. Protecting your personal data from third parties, such as marketers, advertisers, etc.

This is what everybody should care about, and these are some of our top priorities. Telegram's aim is to create a truly free messenger, without the usual caveats. This means that instead of diverting public attention with low-impact settings, we can afford to focus on the real privacy issues that exist in the modern world.”

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. – Hebrews 4:13
