Chinese Communists cracking down on Christianity...COMING TO AMERICA IN A TIME NEAR YOU.

One of the seemingly taboo subjects in modern Western political discourse seems to be the plight of Christians in some Communist lands, and in places with intolerant versions of Islam. China and Egypt come to the head of the list when ever the subject is rarely broached, but what is happening right now in China seems to be a new low for the totalitarian state. Our President has mentioned the problem a few times, but not much has actually been done, or seems about to be done. That needs to change. We need to prioritize LIFE and human rights even over trade when dealing with the ChiComs.

"China’s government is ratcheting up a crackdown on Christian congregations in Beijing and several provinces, destroying crosses, burning bibles, shutting churches and ordering followers to sign papers renouncing their faith, according to pastors and a group that monitors religion in China. The campaign corresponds with a drive to “Sinicize” religion by demanding loyalty to the officially atheist Communist Party and eliminating any challenge to its power over people’s lives."

And...btw...I just did an article here a couple days ago about how Google is helping the ChiCom regime to be able to up their surveillance capabilities and to pigeon-hole each Chinese person with a "social score" that follows them everywhere and determines what their life will be like. Christians, obviously, are not going to be faring too well under the Google/ChiCom scoring system.

Also, there are churches in my home state that I just happen to know have been asked to pray for their fellow Christians in such places. That's all, not to have a fund drive, or send missionaries, or appeal to politicians, OR ANYTHING..and they have refused. For the life of me, I can not understand the lack of empathy here in the States in many corners of so-called "Christianity" here for the plight of fellow Christians.

The article does a good job of pointing out what real Christianity means. Historically, Christianity has thrived and grown the most under persecution. If the reverse is true (and I am sure it is) I can at least begin to understand the lack of true Christian spirit across our fat-and-happy, dumbed-down American landscape. Maybe we need a dose of real persecution (probably well on its way now) for us to take our professions of faith seriously.

May God preserve his Church and our fellow Christians in lands where the Gospel is NOT permitted, let alone received openly.
