As with so many things in the world of geopolitics..WATCH THE REALITIES and barely pay attention to the rhetoric.

Russia, despite the glowing reports about the brief tete-a-tete between Putin and Trump in Helsinki, has greatly accelerated the pace of their dumping of U.S Treasury assets. THAT IS THE REALITY, not all the "peace and safety" B.S. coming from the lying mouths of the globalist leaders. Maybe Putin got Trump's "permission" to do this, I don't know, but it is far, far, far away from sending a message about "renewed cooperation" and the impending death of Cold War II.

It's a shell game, people. Try very hard NOT to watch the moving lips of the huckster:

Pay particular attention to this (from the above link):

"'I think that we need to create our own financial tools. This would serve as an additional safeguard for the Russian financial sector against external shocks, and would give a new impetus to its development,' Kostin added. The financial tools Kostin mentioned are floating eurobonds, shares and other derivatives that are now used only in the West."

Does that sound like a thawing of relations to you? Hardly. It sounds, instead, like Russia is disengaging from The West to me. Not that that's a bad thing for Russia. Were I a Russian patriot and not an America one, I would be applauding the move. Now, admittedly, much of this is predating the Helsinki meeting, but there is no sign that this pace of sell off is slowing, or that it will slow.

So, as always, when to comes to politics and geopolitics, always WATCH THE REALITIES and barely pay attention to the rhetoric. The rhetoric is what TPTB want you to think, rarely what is really happening. Realizing and understanding this is imperative.

That all having been said, I am very glad the two leaders met, and I hope and pray they will find ways to seek better relations (without working for a merger or for a globalist NWO) so that the peoples of both of our countries can just live our lives in peace and prosperity. AND, I understand Trump backtracking on his statements about Russia not interfering in our elections (to some minor degree). We all do it. THAT IS ONE OF THOSE GEOPOLITICAL REALITIES!
