Confirmation Bias

Here we are smack dab in the middle of the a world-wide renaissance of populism and the globalists are doubling down like they are crackheads unable to admit they have an addiction problem. One particular trend is forming groups of people who feel the need for confirmation bias. Today, I was invited by someone on Facebook to a group still clinging to the idea that Trump was elected illegally.

The anti-Trump groups on Facebook are rather small in number compared to how mainstream news covers the dissent. For instance, the top page that populates if you search for anti-Trump pages on Facebook is Protest Against President Trump: "The Millennial's Revolution" with an entire 1000 members. Whoo! There's a huge political force! The new group I was invited to had almost 60K members. But, this is still a drop in the bucket compared to how CNN would have you think the numbers run in Never-Trumpers.

Also, the doubling down with confirmation bias is "journalist" Joshua Holland. He is a contributor to The Nation. And right on his Twitter page he states he "insta-mutes" Trump supporters because he asks "what the Hell is wrong with you?".

Of course I had to reach out and tweet to him after I read a few of his articles. And as I suspect he will mute me. But, as we know from our studies, this revolution will not be televised. Or in this case, it will not be covered by mainstream media.

The guy really has put himself inside a bubble of cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias. When you look at his articles he does not seem to be keeping up with current events such as the North Korea/American summit. He instead seems to be running with the agenda of the globalists. And ironically, he seems to be in auto-pilot.

I even reached out the guy I went to high school with who invited me to the latest anti-Trump group on Facebook. He has some very specific opinions. And he is currently a professor teaching a class where students try to find "fake news" created by an AI bot vs real news. But, this was what he had to say was his reason for belonging to an anti-Trump group. And, as I respect my friend on a lot of levels, I feel his position at a major university has him surrounded with an environment that contributes to his confirmation bias.

Granted, he has a clear head, except for this one main point. But, my analogy is you can have a perfectly working car and if your one main point, formed in your confirmation bias, of insisting it will run on water is acted on, it will go nowhere. But, I also noticed the page does not define the "corruption" they claim Trump is guilty of engaging in. And it makes me realize that people can find confirmation bias in anything they want. Its ironic in this information age! Because with a little digging, you can find a lot of dirt on Bill and Hillary Clinton. But, if you confirmation bias forces you to reject the Hatti/Clinton Foundation controversy for instance, you can have an incredible IQ and still not discern fact from fiction.
