Breaking the Mob Mentality

The mob has been in fine form of late, shouting down every and any dissenting opinion. It is not different from the usual way those who think differently from what is generally acceptable are treated, however its effectiveness in successfully hounding, attacking and silencing dissenters is what calls for concern.

From free speech to Human Rights, political opinions to the spread of information, the mobs influence in getting its way is growing stronger in this writers opinion.

Those that are brave enough to stand up and challenge the media mob face a backlash that has at times proven costly. As we count the cost of having seperate views of what we consider the truth, those who have much to lose, often possessing the loudest voices - are silenced out of fear. For those who fight, it is often a lonely journey that comes at a sacrifice.

Recognizing the need to disrupt and ultimately defeat the mob mentality should be the main goal of everyone who thinks outside the herd. Fail to do this and eventually every dissenting voice will be silenced.

The most viable battle option is to arm ourselves with the truth in the information war. The mob works on emotions, so we as alternative thinkers must fight feelings with facts. Facts cannot be disputed, and while emotions can cloud reason, it cannot disregard evidence. It is always easy to report a lie, but the truth ultimately can never be hidden.
