Psychopaths are not creative.
Thus, it appears that their typical MO is to blame their opponent for what they are doing.
Maybe we should look deeply into all the accusations Hitlery made last election...

    I think a lot of it is Psychological Projection. The best way for a criminal to feel safe from getting caught is get close to the investigators (in this case set up the investigation) and point it in the direction of your opponent, charging them with the crime they committed. Then it's settled in their mind, their opponent is the criminal, not them. @ironshield

    Psychological projection is a theory in psychology in which the human ego defends itself against unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others.
