Trump's Totally Free Trade Idea Is Really Smart

in #informationwar6 years ago

Trump brought it up at the G-7 summit saying:

"Ultimately that's what you want, you want tariff free, no barriers, and you want no subsides because you have some countries subsidizing industries and that's not fair,"

Which is true this is a perfect economy not because there will be no problems, but because the people will decide what companies there money goes to and they will be able to buy products and sell product to other countries more freely. A

Also the big companies won't have an unfair advantage with government help, they will actually have to provide a better product or service at a better price. What is even better is they would have to compete with individuals all over the world!

Anyways so Trump continued with:

"So you go tariff free, you go barrier free, you go subsidy free, that's the way you learned at the Wharton School of Finance."

Well that would be great! So tariffs from other countries are not that horrible nothing above 1.6 which is the US average of all products.

That is about the same average for Germany, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Japan is next at 1.3 then you got Canada with a .8 average so we are well on our way to free trade.

Trump is the kinda guy to act like a little girl it's like well he did it so I want to do it, rather then be a man about it and say well you do it and that's wrong so why would I make the same mistake. Well this is Trump's reasoning behind not wanting to take off our tariffs and in fact adding steal tariffs on Canada:

"Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!"
Well okay little baby Trump sense Canada jumps off a bridge well the US is too whether it hurts the people or not and in this case tariffs hurt american consumers.

Lets remember Trump is doing something very stupid he is giving the next president full power to say whatever he wants as long as he or she says its for national security purposes.

Lets also not forget that dairy in the US is highly subsidize hence why we see the price going up up up, I mean cheese is 50 percent higher then the world market price and non fat dry milk is 30 percent higher so I mean if we took off our tariffs we would be getting our milk 30 percent lower in price which would be winning!

It seems that Trump does not care about american consumers winning, he only cares about american big business winning which is not a surprise that is what every president does.

Basically if we could eliminate every trade barrier we would have the most prosperous planet in the solar system, what is stopping us? Well when one country jumps off a bridge other countries tend to follow, but why not be a leader Mr. Trump and take off all tariffs and subsidies.

Yes if we took off all subsidies business would fail, but if they can't operate without tax payers extra money then they obviously suck and are a failing business model and we should let them fail and cut all barriers to entry into the industry and let other better business take over.

The direction we need to go is obvious we must go towards free trade not restricted trade, as anyone should know if I restrict my own access to trade I am hurting myself it's common sense.

So we will see if Trump decides a trade war is the way to go then we will see some huge problems and maybe a faster crash which is a good thing, but if Trump decides free trade is the way to go and actually does it then we might actually see real economic growth for the average consumers.

I definitely agree with your concepts regarding free trade and subsidies. And I enjoyed reading this post, it was very informative! But I struggle with how we get there.

In order to have free trade, you need to have trade partners that are willing to do so. And if I understand this complex issue correctly- this has not been the case, And current trade policies have traditionally placed the U.S. at a disadvantage.

So while I understand your “jump off the bridge” analogy and it makes sense on paper. But I think that if the U.S. eliminated tarrifs, our trade partners would not follow and use it as an opportunity to serve their best interests and take advantage of the U.S.’s friendly trade policy.

To use another analogy- Trump’s “fight fire with fire” approach to this issue may be painful in the short term, I think I may yield quicker progress to get to where you are looking to arrive.

thats the good thing if we take away our barriers we win!!! we get the benefits of lower prices for our goods that we buy! Its the countries restricting there trade that loose! do you follow what I am saying? If we allow products to come into our country tax free that means they will be cheaper so that means the US consumers or the average american will be able to spend less money on the goods they want. Now yes american business will be at a disadvantage, but if a specific business can't compete with business from other countries then so be it they are not good enough.

I also want to thank you for reading and the comment!!!!!
