Pembukaan Asian Games 2018, sabtu malam, 18 Agustus 2018 dibuka dengan penampilan Presiden Joko Widodo menunggangi motor dan menyalami para tamu undangan.

Pembukaan acara ini, juga dibuka dengan Tari Saman asal Aceh. Sebanyak 1.500 penari dilibatkan untuk memeriahkan acara pembukaan Asian Games 2018 ini di Stasiun Utama Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta.
Untuk menampilkan tarian yang spektakuler, para penari ini telah mempersiapkan diri selama 17 pekan.
