Bulan adalah tetangga terdekat bumi yang berada di luar atmosfer. Benda yang memantulkan sinar matahari di malam hari ini sungguh sangat mempesona bagi siapapun yang memandangnya. Selain sebagai penyebab pasang surut air laut di bumi, ternyata bulan masih banyak menyimpan fakta-fakta dan misteri yang unik untuk diketahui.

Bulan yang kita lihat di hampir setiap malam layaknya bohlam berpijar yang tergantung bebas di langit tampak sangat indah. Namun jika dilihat dari dekat, permukaan bulan sangatlah tidak mulus. Banyak kawah-kawah yang menghiasinya seperti bekas jerawat yang berlubang.

Walaupun hanya memiliki kemampuan 16 megapixel, namun kemampuan optical zoom yang sangar hingga 83x dan digital zoom hingga332x.

Kawah-kawah yang terbentuk diakibatkan oleh hantaman asteroid sekitar 4 miliar tahun yang lalu. Uniknya lagi bulan memiliki permukaan tekstur yang keras seperti titanium, namun semakin ke dalam malah semakin lembut bahkan ada sebagian yang berongga. Bisa dibayangkan jika hantaman asteroid yang membentuk kawah di bulan dengan kedalamannnya mencapai 6,4 kilometer dengan luas diameter 300 kilometer. Jika asteroid tersebut menghantam bumi maka beberapa ahli mengatakan akan membentuk kawah dengan kedalaman minimal 1.200 kilometer.
