Gerhana bulan parsial yang terjadi tadi malam tanggal 7-8 Agustus 2017 merupakan fenomena astronomis yang ditunggu-tunggu oleh semua orang di seluruh dunia, tidak hanya para astronom namun juga semua manusia yang masih berjalan dibawah rembulan di malam hari.

The partial lunar eclipse that occurred last night on 7-8 August 2017 is an astronomical phenomenon that eagerly awaited by everyone around the world, not only astronomers but also all humans who are still walking under the moon at night.

Fenomena gerhana bulan parsial terjadi akibat wajah satelit bumi (bulan) tertutup sebagian atau lebih tepatnya seperempat bagian dari cahaya matahari oleh bumi, sehingga banyak juga yang menyebutnya gerhana bulan seperempat. Hal ini hanya terjadi saat fase purnama dan dapat diprediksi sebelumnya.

Semalam langit di Kota Banda Aceh terlihat sedang bagus-bagusnya, saya tidak menyia-nyiakan kesempatan itu untuk mengabadikan momen langka. Tepatnya saya berada di Kedai Kopi Rawa Sakti Coffe, Gampong Jeulingke Kecamatan Syiah Kuala. Sembari menikmati secangkir kopi sanger, sesekali saya melihat ke arah jam untuk menunggu memastikan bahwa fase gigitan bulan akan segera dimulai.

While I enjoyed a cup of sanger coffee, I am waiting and occasionally looked at the clock to make sure that the moon bite phase was about to begin.

Proses gerhana bulan parsial dapat diamati dari seluruh wilayah di Indonesia, baik dilihat dengan mata telanjang atau menggunakan alat bantu teleskop atau binokuler. Beruntung saya dapat mengabadikannya menggunakan kamera dengan lensa telephoto. Saya menggunakan Nikon Coolpix P900. Kualitas gambar yang dihasilkan memang tidak sebaik kamera DSLR atau kamera mirrorless pada umumnya, namun Nikon P900 mempunyai kelebihan pada lensa saat digunakan pada kondisi kekurangan cahaya. Menariknya kamera ini memiliki kemampuan zooming yang luar biasa hingga 83x dan digital zoom hingga 332x, sehingga sangat cocok untuk digunakan mengabadikan momen gerhana bulan seperti semalam.

Partial lunar eclipses can be observed from all regions of Indonesia, whether viewed with the naked eye or using telescopes or binoculars. I was lucky cause i can capture it using a camera with telephoto lenses. I use Nikon Coolpix P900. The resulting image quality is not as good as DSLR cameras or mirrorless cameras in general, but Nikon P900 has advantages in the lens when used in low light conditions. Interestingly this camera has an incredible zooming capability up to 83x and digital zoom up to 332x, so it is suitable for use to capture the lunar eclipse moments like overnight.

Fase 2, Gerhana parsial dimulai (Phase 2, the partial eclipse begins)

Fase 3, Puncak gerhana parsial (Phase 3, the peak of the partial eclipse)

Melalui website NU.or.id (4/8/2017) umat Islam yang melihat gerhana tersebut dalam rentang fase kedua sampai fase keempat disunnahkan melaksanakan shalat gerhana bulan (khusuful qamar).

Through the website of NU.or.id (4/8/2017) Muslims who see the eclipse in the second phase range until the fourth phase is being suggest taking lunar eclipse pray (khusuful qamar).

Sepanjang Tahun 2017 akan terjadi 4 gerhana yaitu 2 gerhana matahari dan 2 gerhana bulan. Sayangnya Masyarakat Indonesia hanya bisa menyaksikan 1 gerhana saja di tahun ini yaitu gerhana bulan parsial 7-8 Agustus 2017. Gerhana bulan yang serupa sebelumnya terjadi pada 28 Juli 1999, Adapun yang akan terjadi pada 19 Agustus 2035. Semoga kita diberikan kesehatan dan umur panjang agar dapat menyaksikannya lagi.

Throughout the year 2017 there will be 4 eclipses happen, there are 2 solar eclipses and 2 lunar eclipses. Unfortunately Indonesian people can only see 1 eclipse only this year is partial lunar eclipse 7-8 August 2017. Similar lunar eclipse occurred on July 28, 1999. The next partial lunar eclipse will occur on August 19, 2035. Hopefully we are given health and long life to can see it again.
