IPL 10 Schedule

 Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening game of IPL 10 in Hyderabad

Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad will play Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening game of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 in Hyderabad on April 5. The final of the 10th edition on May 21 will also be played at the same venue (Hyderabad). As usual total of eight teams will take part in this year’s IPL.

After the league stage, the qualifiers will be held on May 16 and May 19 while the eliminator is scheduled on May 17. The venues for playoffs will be announced later. Moreover, this edition of the IPL will see Indore return as a venue after a long gap. The last time the city hosted IPL matches was way back in 2011. Indore will serve as home venue for three Kings XI Punjab matches. 

Due to the MCD elections IPL 2017 schedule had to undergo slight changes. The Delhi Daredevils vs Mumbai Indians match, which was originally slated to be hosted at the Ferozeshah Kotla on April 22, was shifted to Mumbai as latter’s home game and will be an evening game. On the same day, Rising Pune Supergiant will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at 4 PM instead of 8 PM.  Delhi Daredevils will host the Mumbai Indians on May 6. 

The tournament will be spread over 47 days across 10 venues. The schedule has been designed with each team playing 14 matches – seven of them at home venues. Last season, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final.

This will be the second year, which will have no Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals as both teams are serving suspension over spot-fixing charges. The suspended teams were replaced by Rising Pune Supergiant and Gujarat Lions
