India: Supreme Court Postpones Crypto Matter To February!

in #india6 years ago

The apex court of India has yet against pushed forward the date from 15th of January to 26th of February. However, it has put it on top of the cause list for the day.

This means it's likely to see some progress. This delay has occurred due to Sr. Advocates for the parties in question were not present on these dates. Otherwise the matter would have moved forward.

Hopefully we will see some resolution in the days to come.

More updates on this matter soon. Meanwhile, please remember that cryptocurrencies are not banned in India. They are not legal tender which means you cannot pay for goods or services with cryptocurrencies within India (same applies for USD) but as there is now law you can possess or trade them currently.

Please don't be misinformed and if you have any doubts please ask them in the comments below.

RBI compliant banks do not support cryptocurrency trades. However recently Pocketbits has started a peer to peer trade option. Is that a legit way of trading or is it still not allowed in India.

Good to know it's on "top of the list", this is a good sign of case number 1 to be heard of Feb 26th, though it's been pushed away multiple times, hope for the best 👍

Thanks for the updates sir

I wonder if these delays are intentionally created to allow India a chance to get this entire crypto craze under their control. Governments all over the world don't like the idea of their citizens being independent of the system they developed.

Hope for the best, but in these days various types of updates are published in social media about bitcoin trading,so it's very confusing. Our govt had ordered RBI to closed its transactions with exchanges of cryptocurrencies,so they had not banned bitcoin in India till now. With these little experiences of the crypto world, I am waiting in the hope of positivity about our govt decisions as well as the decisions of honorable SP of India. Thanks for the updates.

Thank you!

@firepower, As expected it's stretching and will stretch to more extent in my opinion. But i think that the shift is coming and masses started to observe this Sphere and slowly when masses will pursue this Technology and Sphere then the picture will change. Stay blessed brother. 🙂

Indian government will regulate. But that may take a long time.
