RE: Is Steemit failing to retain members in the platform?

in #india6 years ago

You have pretty much nailed the thoughts of many in this, and I think very common for people to feel the rewards are dropping so it is time to give up. It is very short sited though - realistically getting anything in reward from a blog post is a bonus, and a portion of your rewards is invested in Steem Power which you will see growth in year on year as long as you keep it there.

The potential for this platform is huge, and so much is in development that will improve it. But even now your potential to earn is still real, every day I see posts receive @curie upvotes that really inspire content curators - and it shows that if you work hard enough and make some exceptional content it will be found - there are plenty of other curation initiatives around as well helping to ensure good content is rewarded.

The community on Steemit is the key to retaining people, and it is the concept that people really struggle with right now - I know myself I spent so long on my own without understanding how the relationships and bonds you make with people make the big difference. This is truly a social experience where the friends you find will help, support and even bring new people to your posts.

And even when rewards are low, joining in the multitude of contests available on Steemit is a great way to earn - @mermaidvampire runs fun colour challenge competitions where everyone gets a little reward - it's that sort of community spirit keeps Steemit alive and ticking.
