LAXMI Puja
The entire day I had to run left and right for the final preparations for the Puja. Had to go buy some Decorations for the house. My mom was busy cooking food for the Puja and the sweets too. It took the three of us almost the entire Day to finish all the preparations.
Finally it came down to the Purohit who as usual was running late by several hours. I am not angry on him or anything it's just that on such occasions Purohits are huge on demand. They get literally snatched in the middle of the road to take them to their houses. Believe me I have seen that with my own eyes.
Purohit means the person who Worships.
Here is how the spread of food looks like. Don't mind the lighting it's already dark out here.
These are the prasads that we are offering to the Goddess Lakshmi. It consists of various fruits, sweets, khichdi, etc.
Prasads are basically Offerings to the Goddess.
Khichdi is a dish made up of Rice and Lentils with Spices.
As I am writing this post the Puja is still ongoing and my Mom is taking part in the Anjali.
Anjali is like giving our all to the Goddess.
In my previous post I have told that we do this Puja every year so that the Blessings of the Goddess of Wealth keeps shining upon us.
I really love Pujas but the one thing that I dislike about it is that my Mom had to stay without food for the entire period which was roughly about 20 hours.
I know it's a custom but in my heart it doesn't look right that my Mom is not eating the entire day.
**PS : You guys might be wondering where are the sweets. Here they are.**

Interesting to see the customs and beliefs of other cultures.. and the food of course.
Hindu Religion has lots and lots of Customs.
Especially our Marriage is so full of Customs.
I really like traditional Christian Wedding where everything looks simple.
Lmao... operative words there are everything looks simple... I promise it's not... probably not as elaborate as your culture but by no means simple
I don't want to sound Offensive.
Of course, I know it has lot's of preparation and many other things but I am pointing out the Actual Marriage Ceremony.
We have Marriage Ceremony which takes about 3 Hours to Complete give or take an hour plus both boy and girl cannot eat anything the entire Day.
No offense taken... what's with the not eating thing?
I have no idea but I attended one of my friend's wedding a few months back and she was telling me how she had nothing to eat the entire Day.
It's a custom of some sorts.
