Beware of catfish whales on discord.
Some scammers are impersonating me on discord. This happened a little while back on steemit.chat.
On steemit.chat a scammer or set of scammers made the rounds impersonating large account holders with slightly misspelled names. This was quickly averted by the admins of steemit.chat neutralizing those accounts on steemit.chat.
This has been rearing it's ugly head now on discord except on discord one does not need to use misspelled names but can impersonate with exactly the same name and if these are disabled the scammer simple creates another one.
It is quite possible that other largish accounts are being impersonated already or will be soon.
First clue is the poor English, but that may not be picked up by other English second language speakers.
I also do not operate on discord soliciting uninvited introductions via direct message. Neither do I delegate especially under these terms, even though the terms seem to make it look legit.
Bellow is another unsolicited conversation via direct message.
A request to move funds via blocktrades. If this was the real me I would simply use my actual account wallet... This should be an immediate red flag that you are potentially dealing with a scammer.
Here is another unsolicited approach.
I would suggest everybody stay sharp on the internet, look out for this scammer impersonating me and I'm sure other impersonations will follow so please everybody be careful.
This is CRYPTO everybody needs to stay wide awake and be wary of unsolicited approaches and offers.

Greetings to everyone . I actually had plans of relating to some notable personality on steemit through discord, but of a truth this post made it dawn on me why i need to be vigilant as regards matters of such.
Mr gavvet i really appreciate you and as many who shared their experiences as regards such kind of cyber abuse.
In some way i believe things can be done to enhance the security level, so as to make it kinda difficult for desperate minds to impersonate the personalities of others

As in the whole world there are always people trying to gain an advantage with the unwary, and steemit no disappointment for what we see here, we must be alert, especially those who have more experience, members like me who have very little experience we have seen scammed with fake boots or fake help offers from members with scores of followers who turn out to be ghosts. Thank you for making this catfish public, we will try to be more alert.
it's not the first time something like this happens here. Carefull.
I think its mostly due to the language barrier that people dont notice the incoming scam when its a cheap one as these guys are pulling.. The learning curve for non-english or basic english speakers is much steeper then for those with advanced english on Steemit. And im not talking only the technical side of things.
The guy in the screenshot is from Philippines. Id bet you that another Philippino wouldnt be able to scam him nearly as easily irl and in his native language.
That barrier is what causes trouble for many, _not that others arent scammed as well. _
So yeah... Its good to have warning posts like this on a regular basis.

For me, it's not real but spam, because of the message itself. It repeats, repeats and repeats. I never seen the alert message with nothing same than in this message, guy removed the "- Discord Team" signature to be more believed. tell your opinions here lol
this disgusting. Scammers are everywhere, hope that peopl will be more aware. those people are really dengerous and harmful. i didn't know about this before. thanks a lot
