Still on the series; “Measure Your Life”. We have discussed about Time, Seasons, Numbers and the fourth one we also discussed earlier was “Impacts”. Now this is the third part of ”Measure Your Life By Impacts”.
4. Measure Your Life By Impacts (C)
I shared the story about Bill Gates and the small newspaper boy, with the young man who helped a mother realize the dream of having her daughter get into school. I will also share this last story before we moved into the last part of this series.
I came across this on Instagram and the guy in question is actually a Nigerian comedian and an Instagram sensation.
He stepped out that day, determined to make someone happy and hoping that person too would make another or others happy.
He saw a young guy hawking plantain. He had a whole bunch of them carefully arranged in various prices. He stepped out of his car and asked the boy the value of the whole plantain he has on his head. The boy told him 4,000 naira (Nigerian currency) and he gave the guy. After giving the guy, he also gave him extra 4,000 naira for him to keep. He told the boy to go around and give the plantain he just paid for, to those who need them, like beggars or hungry families.
The boy left and saw some beggars not too far away and he summoned them. You all need to see the way they all rushed these plantain. I was touched.
Life should be measured by impacts and the lives we made better than we met it.
When we feel the impact from another life, we should also seek to impact another life. When my life got better as a result of the help i received from someone, it should be a point of duty for me to seek another person whose life i can have a positive influence on as well.
You might feel you are not making obvious progress as others are, but be contented knowing your impacts are everywhere. Let your influence spread like a fragrance and live a life of impact.
Measure your life not by the amount you have stashed up in your account but by the number of lives that have been blessed by you and through you.
