Imminent launch of EOS BlockchainsteemCreated with Sketch.

The launch of the EOS Blockchain has been a huge experience in terms of remote self-organization.

Tonight, they made a big leap forward. As expected, candidates for the role of validators or "block producers" (the equivalent of EOS miners in Bitcoin) located around the world voted "Go" to take the mainnet live.

EOS is a Block-Pro distributed blockchain created by Block. One, whose co-founder, Dan Larimer, pioneered similar systems with BitShares and Steem. The company raised $ 4 billion to develop open source software on an initial offer of one-year parts.

Nobody really knew what would happen if society gave its code to the world, but with this vote, it becomes clearer.

In the run-up to the launch of the software, a group of organizations competing for the role of block producer met and formed the launch group of EOS Mainnet (EMLG). They have so far managed to agree on a number of things, the most important being that they would launch a core network for EOS.

More than 100 candidate organizations participated in a call that began at 1:00 pm UTC Saturday and the vote came about 45 minutes later, as more than 1,800 people watched. The vote on "Go / No Go" was almost unanimous; the moderators did not report a final count. The meeting was posted on YouTube by EOS GO.

With this vote, a set of named block producers will move to take the live network. These groups have already been designated. This initial network should be set up at 13:00 UTC, according to a plan presented during the flow. From there, additional validation will be required before launching the final stages of the launch.

According to the order of events of EOS Mainnet Launch, the launch of the network by designated block producers will be followed by at least 48 hours of additional testing. Barring major bugs, EOS owners will then be invited to vote for a set of block producers.

EOS will become operational once 15% of the chips in circulation have been voted on and the first group of elected block producers has been established.

As we have already pointed out, there will still be a lot of problems to watch once that happens.

Many of these block producer candidates have put a lot of time, money and time into the project. Will those who do not get a coveted validator spot honor their promises or will they leave to launch a rival version of EOS?
