The real estate industry encompasses the many facets of property, including development, appraisal, marketing, selling, leasing, and management of commercial, industrial, residential, and agricultural properties. This industry can fluctuate depending on the national and local economies, although it remains somewhat consistent due to the fact that people always need homes and businesses always need office space. Today, the real estate industry is one of the most lucrative sectors of the U.S. economy, and it continues to provide opportunities for interested and motivated individuals. However, in this digital age where the world is basking in the euphoria of innovative technologies, the Realty industry is lagging behind as it has not been fully digitized to unleash its full potential. Lack of access to data (information) has become a bottleneck challenge in the industry. It is quite challenging for investors (especially smaller ones) to gain access to genuine data on underlying assets based on localized factors and probably geographical boundaries too.
The place of data in (especially) Real Estate cannot be overestimated in any way, because the lack of it thereof has crippled the efficiency of the industry. Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) is currently worth $1.7 Trillion global market capitalization but regrettably, there’s no corresponding access for the everyday retail investor. Investors have no reliable database to guide their investment decisions, making it difficult to tell if an increased REIT exposure to an asset in another locality is a net positive or not. Even though buying such information could be possible, the originality is highly questionable and it could cause the investor a huge loss. The existing system of the Real Estate Industry has been struggling under these challenges and it is the major reason for which the DexisChain project was created; to remove the barricade of access for the average retail investor

DexisChain will be employing “wisdom of the crowd” mechanism of sourcing information to the real estate industry to enhance transparency of data. Upon starting with data within the confines of the REIT, the DexisChain ecosystem will consistently evolve to cover all sorts of real estate investing products; from ETFs, mutual funds, stocks and other granular real estate data and eventually grow to incorporate direct investment capabilities. It is also worthy of note that DexisChain also employs competitive data science to make use of the robust data that prediction markets generate. The prediction market-to-data modeling cycle generates quite a lot of profit opportunities for investors. Being engrossed in the real estate sharing ecosystem, will further incentivize more growth of the sector and attract more investors who has been discouraged previously by the lack of data.
