It is lovely to see we share this interest @flysky and i respect people who have the welfare of others at heart.
Well talking on how we can help others, i think it is quite simple. You don't need to have so much before you can actually help someone. All you need to do is identify a particular need in another's life and do the little that you can within your limits to meet it. Very little impacts a lot of meaning in the lives of those in need. It makes them feel loved and cared for which has a big influence on them.
It was with this idea that i and a friend founded a group called "GLOW community" made up of zealous young people who are out to impact the lives of those in need in our community. With most of us being just students, we still believe that the little we can offer can go a long way to meet the need in their lives. We conjure up our resources every month and together we pick out a group or community that needs our help in one way or the other; it can be an orphanage, prisons, hospitals etc just that there be a need and we will be there.
So i think helping should not be about a particular group too, i just want to believe if one is out to help then where there is need then you should be there to do something.
I admire your willingness and zeal to help others and all i can say is but appreciate you and say the world really needs more like you.
