The quickening of human evolution

Recent genetic studies show that the human race has entered into the evolution of the 'rapid lane - we are becoming increasingly diverse. Over the past 5000 years of genetic changes were even approximately 100 times faster pace than in any other period. This contradicts the widely established view that recent human evolution has slowed down or even stopped altogether.

The study authors - Utah (USA), Professor Henry Harpending - states that the previously established canon led to believe that these differences are due to cultural variations, but in reality almost any temperament trait is strongly influenced by genetic changes. He also states that genes evolve significantly in Europe, Asia and Africa, and almost all of them are unique within they content,

• we are becoming less and less alike.

In his view such a process takes place due to the fact that from the very first people (leaving Africa??) and colonizing the world, now not been any significant human migration and mixing.

Scientists have found evidence that all of the recent time was the natural selection of genes. Develops approximately 7% of all human genes, among which is the information that causes brighter skin and blue eyes (Northern Europe), and partial resistance to some diseases, such as malaria (some African populations included).

Five thousand years is only a small drop of the time, it was about a 100 or 200 people at times. Before time, some of these genes only appeared, and they are now on their development became 30% -40% of all people.
Scientists believe that there are two key factors in accelerating human evolution. One of them is the fact that the number of people is much higher, and the more of them there are, the more favored the gene mutation probabilities.
A large population has a higher genetic diversity, and it is more likely to remain positive mutation compared with a smaller population. The second is the changes in the environment - in our diets have changed radically, and we live in a new environment.
