HowToWeekly contest - My entry: How to make wind chime from snailshells?
As I promised, with a bit of delay, but I'll show you how the snailshell wind chime is made.
#1 Collect some empty snail shells (you'll need 22 pieces of similar size but you'd better collect more) and wash them carefully. After drying, drill a 2 mm hole on them, at the mouth. Be careful, snailshells are very fragile.
#2 Cut a 9 cm diameter disc from plywood and drill 10 holes on it, like this. 3 holes for the hanger and 7 for the snailshell flaggings:
#3 Paint the shells and the disc as you like with acrylics and media ink:
#4 Lace the shells with a packing-needle on a strong twine, fix them with knots. The knots must be bigger than the holes on the shells! You'll have 6 flaggings with 3 shells per one, and one with 4 (in the middle)
#5 Fix the flaggings (6+1 pieces) on the disc with knots. You can use a needle.
#6 Cut 3 pieces of 20-25 cm twines, then make the hanger by knotting them on the disc. You cannot see the knots in this picture, because they are on the bottom of the disc.
#7 Hang your chime on a tree, relax and listen to its beautiful sound!
Ну........ очень красиво, акриловые чернила не знал, буду гуглить, спасибо большое

Oh I absolutely LOVE this!!!
I have many wind chimes around our home and garden and if I had seashells, I'd be adding this to my crafts and DIY list.
Great! Do you have photos of your chimes? I would love to see them!
