HOW TO CATCH A BLUE CRAB
Some say that you do not know how to do something until you can teach someone else how to do it.
Just days ago Pinkie-Pepper and Red-Pepper learned how to catch Blue Crabs. Now, they had the chance to teach Monster Truck the Pepper how. Although we did not catch any "keepers", we still had fun. Check it out.
Them crabs are a bit frisky. I think they're called "blue" crabs because that the color your finger turns after they pinch you.
Your finger turns red when they pinch you, I've been pinched by them before!
Either way I bet it hurts.
Yup!
When I was crabbing in the Cayman Islands, there were three species I caught: the Atlantic Ghost Crab, which is VERY fast and can give you a nasty pinch [and they burrow into sand, and live on land, in said burrows]
and the red land crab, who are completely terrestrial, and also make burrows, but smaller ones [and are a local delicacy]
I also managed to catch a blue crab which was stuck in a tide pool!
My method of catching them [note that these are terrestrial crabs] was just to throw a large t-shirt over them, like a net, and then scoop them up and into a bag. I didn't eat any of them, too cute!
These littles are always having so much fun and learning at the same time. Bless all of you!
You guys are amazing, i admire your adventurer spirit as well as your crab catching skill. Thanks for coming up with this lesson.
sSo awesome to see a father interacting and spending precious moments with his children.
We are lazy in Australia - we use nets to catch crabs but lines are more pure.
Well done, and so quick!
Well done on the crab catching expodition, you have got to watct those claws, they will make your fingers blue if you give them half a chance
