Math Made Easy - Adding with 9s

I've been doing some Math problems for school work. Addition, subtraction, regrouping, rounding, estimating, less than, greater than...
Sometimes I get it sometimes I forget. Sometimes I just don't want to do it and I just want to go play!
But if I'm going to be wise about money, I need to know Math really well and be quick without using calculator.
My dad has been teaching me some Fuzzy Math. And that's how you can be quick in Math in your head. He told me to break the Math problems to easier parts.
The Trick
My mom wrote this pattern many times for me. But this time she made this in a spreadsheet.
See that red box added to 9? We need to focus on that. Well, 9+1 and 9+9 are pretty easy but she added it there to show the pattern works for the easy part too.
Now we take those numbers and subtract 1.
Then just put 1 infront of it. (Or add 10 my mom said). I can do that.

Another Trick
My dad taught me this. Whenever I see subtraction problems that the minuend (top number) is one less than the subtrahend (bottom number) then the answer is always 9. Maybe that's for another post? But I already told you about it so maybe not.
