Knowledge-seekers Homestead Photography Contest. Yellow Around The Homestead
SWISS CHARD
My entry into @knowledge-seekers contest is of different food we're growing on the homestead that are yellow.
TOMATO FLOWERS
One of the great things about most tomato plants is that they keep putting off flowers throughout the summer. Which means you get multiple harvests off one seed.
WATERMELON FLOWERS
The Watermelons still have a ways to go. Some flowers have set to fruit but we still have a few months before they'll read.
SQUASH FLOWER
This squash flower is of a spaghetti squash. We love to substitute spaghetti noodles with shredded spaghetti squash. This type of squash is also great because it will last for quite a while in a cool dark place.
YELLOW SQUASH
Last but not least yellow squash. We have been putting these in our CSA bags for the past 2 weeks. We like to eat them as well. One of our favorite ways is to roast them in the oven with potatoes, onions and carrots. Drizzle with some olive oil, salt, pepper and Italian seasonings.🤤😋

Thanks for sharing these images and small tricks.
Love yellow! So nice to see what is growing in different seasons on different continents. And such a colourful entry @hopfarmnc
Wow it looks like you have a lot of different things going on @hopfarmnc! We have never tried swiss chard before, but I hear a lot of people talking about growing it and really liking it. It might be something to think about next year. Good Job!
