My Colloidal Silver Rig & How To - Part Deux

In PART 1 I described how to modify the HP Printer Power Adapter to provide the 30V that I understand to be the optimum voltage for making CS.

That long winded medical disclaimer from Part 1 still applies.

Next comes the bubbler system.

This is used to keep the process making as much Colloidal Silver as possible, while limiting the amount of Ionic Silver produced.

I'm working from memory here, any chemistry experts feel free to chime in, but by keeping the distilled water moving/circulating (but only very gently) the electrolysis process produces colloidal silver as opposed to ionic silver.

Here's my highly scientific description: Colloidal Silver = GOOD, and Ionic Silver = MEH (i.e. you put a lot of work into making silver pee).

At its most basic, the bubbler section consists of a small aquarium pump and an air diffuser with a valve to control the flow of bubbles coming out.

This pic shows my bubbler assembly inserted through a plastic Mason Jar Lid.

Please note that hole sizes and specific pieces are less important than the principle that you want to gently circulate the water while passing a current through the coins.

There is a 5/16" diameter hole drilled through the lid, near the edge, that a 5" long piece of drip irrigation riser passes through.

On either end of the riser is a 90 degree drip irrigation barbed fitting.

Tip: When installing barbed fittings into drip irrigation tubing soak the riser in hot (but not boiling) water to soften it up before inserting the fitting.

On the end of the riser that goes into the jar is a 3/4" long piece of silicone airline and an air diffuser.

You can also simply drop a cheap air stone connected to a piece of airline through the hole.

There are also 2 parallel (more or less) slots 1/4" x 3/8" long near the center of the plastic lid.

These slots are cut perpendicular to the way the coins will be facing and are where the alligator clips pass through.

The clips hold the coins in place so that the coins are spaced roughly 1" apart (face to face)when they're suspended in the water.

I use the short pieces of Bamboo skewer that were shown in the preceding post to make sure the alligator clips don't protrude far enough into the jar for them to actually come into contact with the water. The chrome plating on the alligator clips is chrome, not silver, I don't want it in my CS.
