It's an interesting strategy, and also refreshing to hear. It seems like in my city all the people who are nearing retirement age are all about maxing out their payment and pinching as many pennies as possible, but for what? Why wait until you're as old as possible to take the maximum when life is so short? It comes across as greedy and foolish to horde their money for so long and do nothing with it, all while complaining about a (local) 1¢ sales tax increase... 🙄. Sorry for the rant!
