Escaping Slavery so You can Homestead

As mentioned in my last article, mindset is most important. Whatever we choose to do in life whether it is to be a brain surgeon, a military General, a biker, a lawyer or anything else, our odds of success is much greater if we have the right mindset. It must be a mindset of independence rather than a colonized mindset.
Proverbs 22:7 says: “The rich rule over the poor. The borrower becomes the lenders slave.” We can learn skills as we go along but first and of foremost importance to freedom is getting out of debt. Debt is slavery. When we realize this we have turned around to where we can see the gate of freedom.
Many people blame banks and talk about how evil they are but no one twisted our arm to make us sign one the line. We willingly sold ourselves into slavery and we can set ourselves free.
The way to know how much of a slave you are is to ask yourself this question: “How much of what you use and eat every day do you provide for yourself?” Sadly for most people the answer is “Nothing”.
Our society has been spoiled with a huge supply of everything we need and also everything we are seduced into wanting to the point that we have no skills of independence and are completely at the mercy of a system designed from the start to enslave us.
Think about this for a while. In the 1930s if the power grid in America had failed for thirty days probably no one would have died. Now let’s imagine that today the power grid failed for thirty days. Have you got it? Millions would die! And this, my friends, is just one aspect of the giant web of slavery that has spread over us today.
In the 1700s industrialists wanting to build factories in America couldn’t find laborers because most everyone had land and was providing for themselves almost everything they needed. What little they wanted in the way of things like coffee and sugar they traded farm surplus like eggs and other things for.
That soon changed with the invention of machinery and the introduction of “time saving” gadgets in the mid- 1800s.
A 93 year old woman once told me that before they got all the “time saving” things that they seemed to have a lot more free time because now everyone is rushing off to work to pay for those “time saving “ things. Think about it. How do you get the money to buy the things that are offered to you in a seductive way? You work for a slave master who gives you a piece of paper to present to other slave masters in exchange for the goods you want.
Next time we will start looking at some solid ways you can cut your expenses so you can get closer to the gate of freedom. Stick with us. Reality is about to show up!

So much truth to this verse

That's a sobering thought and as we become ever more reliant on a computerised system the harder we will find it when the power does go down. Here in Australia they are talking about going cashless by 2020. Can you imagine how people would feed themselves if the system went down and there was no cash available?

To be free from this slavery i think people need to be creative become entrepreneurs, People go into dept because they are enticed by promotion companies and showy display of ones means of life that trends today as a result living out of their means. follow@https://steemit.com/@theheralds

This is a really good post about borrowing money and the feeling of being in debt to those you owe. Nothing hangs over ones head more than powerlessness to get out of that situation. Very few people understand what it feels like to truly be free. Thanks for your post. 🐓🐓

smart post!! Great job. Following you now. All the best

Thanks Joseph. Following you too.

I was just thinking the other day that if anyone wanted to take over America, they would just have to cut off our coffee supply. Can you imagine an entire population of un-caffeinated people? It would be complete anarchy.

I had this realization about lenders/borrowers too a few years ago and joined Lending Club. It's a peer-to-peer lending program, so I can be the lender. You can invest as little as $25 into each loan that goes out (so if the person defaults, the most you lose is $25) and you get to decide which people you want to loan money to (ie. how risky). I like being the bank, not the borrower :)

You wouldn't want to see me on a cup of coffee. Caffeine makes me climb the walls.
The Lending Club sounds like a cool thing. Those who rule hate independence and are becoming afraid.
