RE: Finishing Greenhouse Framing & How We Use Solar Power

in #homesteading7 years ago

Folks this is a typical Gilligan build . Notice how he put those rafters on ? On top of the support beam , WRONG .

In today's YT video https://nicktube.com/watch?v=tyZlw2BcgKc he will show you more ineptness at construction starting with the support posts . Does Fruitloops dig 4 foot holes ( highly recommended and to code ) then level the posts and finish with concrete or Quickset . Not on your life , that's the professional method . Oh no , our fellow after hours of research came up with this superior application . By the way , a bag of Quickset is about 4 bucks .

The master carpenter then mounts his panels on what can best be described as flimsy framing . To make matters worse ( yes it gets worse ) the structure was built underneath a softwood pine tree .

The idiot will wakeup one morning , look outside and wonder why his solar panels are in the neighbor's yard . Way to go Fruitloops , you the man .

Sort:

Now you tell me. I watched his video and ran outside and dug two holes 3 inches deep under a tree and set my poles. Now my view from my house is ruined but at least I can run my little 12v night light and call my home totally off grid.

Grayed out:
