Finishing Greenhouse Framing & How We Use Solar Power
I finished framing in the greenhouse as well as possible with the wood I have on hand for now. And I show you how we use solar power on our homestead.
I put on some rafters but then ran out of suitable wood for now. I will have to get more wood in order to put the roof on this greenhouse. The stuff I have is from a local lumber yard and was sitting outside for four years. Some of it is not very strong anymore but it is great for artistic crafts, which I will use it for.
I started to frame in the door as well. This gives the entire structure more strength.
I then built two long shelves along the back wall of the greenhouse to set our potted plants on. This will give them a place to stay during the winter and keeps them out of the way. I love how it looks now with the plants in place.
I have my two folding solar panels out in the sun charging up our portable LED lamps. We use the LED lamps at night in order to save energy.
We are also using the GoSun solar cooker for most of our meals these days unless it is raining outside. This is literally free energy from the sun.
Our main solar panels power the fridge during the day when the sun is shining. We can also charge up our laptops, cell phones and other small electronic devices as needed. We are nearly off the grid already.
We have to get the water pump powered by solar panels and then we will be there.

No cut off, inverter outside in the weather, bare wire in the house- they went after him. Looking forward to a visit from the electrical inspector. He claimed his fridge was "sort of" off grid and no mention of his well pump or electric stove or heat for the house. He got owned by his own video.

I noticed you and Ming Ling wearing heavy jackets while putting up the solar panels but zero smoke coming from the little house. So you are using propane heat instead of much cheaper wood to heat the house? Ask yourself what a true off gridder would do. I find this misleading.

But if my memory serves me, he Never Really did show how he uses any power.
Ironically, today's "daily" video from Reid shows how he is making a rack to mount the solar panels onto.
Why is it months later, Reid says he needs to get the panels off the ground "URGENTLY" and make power?
Why was this not a priority when he moved there in March-April?
Why does he keep saying the houses are "95% Off Grid" when he is in the middle of building a "battery box" to house the batteries against the front of the house, and is just Now mounting solar panels?
I remember Reid saying the solar panels were laying on the ground (doing nothing by the way) because he was concerned they would "tip over in the wind",
But now he mounted the panels high on the "flimsy" structure like a sail on a sailboat!
And just the other day when it snowed, Reid bragged that solar panels produce more electricity with snow on the ground.
Why would he mount the top panels so high?
And what about the trolls he claims "trespass daily" there?
Won't the solar panels block his view of the homestead while he sits on the couch all day?
So many conflicting issues that just don't add up there.

Ming Sling claims she is off grid in her video title but you can hear the washing machine and dryer in the background. Then she cooks on her off grid electric stove and uses an off grid electric appliance in the process. This is false advertising as I would never have clicked on it if I had known she was fully on grid. She should be reported for fraud.
