Eskimo's Mid-June 2019 UPDATE!!
Nice and hot here in UNALAKLEET, ALASKA, and we are so grateful! Many things happened recently, and the plants are growing nicely. Our cherry tree is planted! As well as the red currant and golden raspberry bushes! Also, we acquired 6,800 MORE square feet right below our property, which is absolutely amazing and the biggest blessing.

Congratulations on getting the use of more land! I hope you get the 30 year lease for the new area. I really enjoy learning about life in Alaska where you are and find your homesteading experiences very interesting. It sounds like you and your family are working hard to make a good rewarding life for yourselves. I wish you well and look forward to reading and seeing more! :)
:) I was so very, very excited at just the chance. Lots of hard work has gone into everything so far... it is great to be physical and invested. Thank you! Take care. :D

So much grass! I keep wiring it up longingly for my rabbits and chickens! 😆
I had to get used to bugs, whether I liked it or not, here. They come in plagues at some times of the year.
Love how the raised beds help to protect from the elements.

Yes, so much grass! Yay! By this time next year, most of it should be covered in hugel boxes. Still green, but palatable and nutritious! Oh the bugs... I still scream once in awhile at the fattest flies, but there are way less bugs here than in most places (WOO HOO!!!) Thank you!!!
