HOW TO MAKE ROSELLE JUICE (ZOBO)
From my last post , I discussed about roselle plant and promised to write on how to extract our juice from roselle plant the juice is called Zobo in Nigeria where I am from and it has different names all over the world. Here are the ways to go about it;
Ingredients;
Roselle calyces (fresh or dried)
Linkdiced pineapple (optional)
Linksweetener of chioce
Linkfew cups of water depending on the quantity you are making
Cooking pot
Bowl
Sieve
you may include ginger and garlic
Ice cubes or refrigerator.

Steps;
- You harvest the Roselle fruit
- You separate the calyces from the seeds (you can dry it if it is not needed urgently and wanted to be preserved)
- You wash the calyces in clean water to clean off dirts like sand, tiny stems rodent excreta and other unhygienic substances.
- You put your calyces in a pot along with sliced pineapple (optional)
- Leave this above to boil for about 30-45 minutes (fresh) or 50-70minutes (dried)
- Leave your boiled calyces and pineapple (optional) to cool down (maybe left overnight for better result)
- Sieve and extract the liquid (juice)
Link - Add your sugar or honey to taste you may as well not add any as pineapple has been added to give a sweet taste
- You may serve or allowed to chill (you may add ice)
- Finally enjoy your juice with family and friends!!

- Anti-Inflammatory and Antibacterial agent

- Helps in anti-aging
- Helps to relieve hangovers.
- Taste great 😉and many more
- It may not be recommended to the following people;
- Those with low blood pressure
- Pregnant women because of its ability to stimulate steady menstrual flow stated in the benefits above.
- Those that develops allergy to it or gets intoxicated by it.
Bonus hint:
You may add little pinch of yeast to the juice and leave it to ferment maybe overnight to make the juice alcoholic if sole desired and then it might be intoxicating like any other alcoholic wine.
