RE: The Benefits of Planting a Hedgerow
I'm so pleased to have seen this article @wildhomesteading. I've never actually seen a hedgerow. Not a common sight in Australia!
I'm not a rural homesteader, simply doing my best to create flower and vegie gardens in a rented suburban property. But the idea of building structures/borders of mixtures of flowers and plants including edibles REALLY appeals. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
I'm happy that I could help introduce you to a new topic! :) They are not that common here in the United States either--well not any more. Single plant type hedges are more common but I don't really count these.
You could plant taller veggies around the edges of your garden to mimic a hedgerow. These could provide late afternoon shade and block some of the winds.
Thanks for your comment! :)
