what Homestead Happiness means for you.
I'm not a Homesteader but I would like to be one to be a happy homesteader I first would need a home with land for gardening, some chickens and other livestock, a good source of running clean water to give the animals and cook with.
Homestead happiness would be to cook or bake what you want when you want no matter the time of year (some folks can't stand heat.)
watching the animals frolic and play and waiting for that fresh loaf of bread out of the oven or home baked pie after a hard day's work weeding or rotating the animals to new pasture fields would be my dream.

STOPMy dream too, my friend. However, you can be a homesteader well before that. It's all about your mindset if you ask me.
very true all in the mind set same for being a prpper or prepared :) I guess I could say I'm a bit of both at heart I just don't get the chance to put things into practice to say I'm actually trying :D yet ;)
What a nice image, @freakygeak! But you know, there are so many ways you can be a homesteader. The most extreme example I know was of a guy who rode his bike across the continent, spending time to volunteer in bike-shops, eco farms, and natural building projects. On his bike, packed with all his stuff, he always had some sprouts growing, so he would grow things even without land, even without staying in one place.
now that would make for a great book :)
