OZARK NEST EGG GOURDS - SEEDS NOW AVAILABLE FOR SALE!!!
100% GERMINATION DURING OUR TESTS!!!
A remarkable wild gem from the Ozark Mountains. The Ozark Nest Egg gourds are one of the few inedible plants that we’ll grow. Since they come in a variety of shapes and sizes, we searched long and hard for this version, but we finally found some that really do look like poultry eggs. These ones are just smaller than most Chicken eggs, and are shaped like the eggs of Guinea Fowl.
Many people purchase fake eggs to place in their nesting boxes, but now you can grow your own. After a wonderful family adventure (which can be viewed here) we brought them home to do some germination tests. In just three days we had 100% germination!!!
In the wild, these plants grow on the banks of the rivers and streams of the Ozark Mountains. They are a sprawling, vining plant with apparently produces well in full sun with ample water available. A very interesting gourd for sure, that is sure to make for great conversations or gifts.

Gourd art!
Cool! Now I know what these are!! HAHA! No amount of guessing would have gotten me the right answer in that contest! LOL
Yeah, pretty crazy huh? They really looked like eggs in those photos.
So they make good decoys? Any other uses?
They are not edible, so crafts are about the only other thing I can think of.
