Calling All Homesteaders... (conclusion)

in #homesteaders7 years ago (edited)

First of all, thank you for staying with my attempts to lay out this collaborative concept.

Part of what delayed my getting this post together was fiddling with a revised chart. This one has the two systems paired and shows just how well they mesh. Again, this is a very, very rough draft. I'll be polishing it up into a presentable form shortly. Everything in light blue text is the VIVA platform.

As you can now see, VIVA is much more than just a crypto currency. By pairing these two systems, homesteads will not have to rely on traditional banks or middlemen in order to prosper:

While you're out tending your livestock or building a new chicken tractor, your computer is merrily humming away on its own, in 'worker node', racking up your VIVA VIP Retirement account.

OR

Have something more substantial in mind than a chicken tractor for your next project or know someone who needs a new cow after losing one unexpectedly? Put in a word about the project and be eligible for the regular Grants issued to help in just such situations.

OR

@artedellavita saw that gorgeous jug of blueberry vinegar @raincountry made. They make a deal for a @artedellavita to send @raincountry a bit of VIVA. One text using VIVA-cash, the payment is received and the bottle is on it's way to another fabulous photo-shoot and rave reviews!

OR

@pennsif had mentioned recently that having someone trustworthy and knowledgeable to look after things when the owner is away is a challenge. I agree. It occurs to me that a Co-Op would be the perfect place for folks to offer their labor and skills or for an owner to find someone suitable to fill in. Think Care.com - Homestead Version!

OR

Need to keep ahead of those incredibly bright kids you're homeschooling? Take some classes yourself and get credit towards a degree, in the process. With Proof of Educational Transcript System (P.O.E.T.S.), you can cherry-pick the best teachers and classes to fit your needs - eventually ending up with a fully accredited degree.

OR

Learned about an heirloom veggie in your latest Organic Gardening class, so you pop into the Greenhouse, Seed Swap aisle to see if anyone has the variety you're looking for.

OR

You need a recipe for the chard you grew, but have no idea how to cook. The database in the Kitchen has choices you never imagined!

I could go on, but as you can see, there are very practical reasons I think this partnership would be beneficial to all the members of this agreement.

The real kicker is down the road a bit, but there is every intention to issue a VIVA Debit Card - to be used just like any other debit card! There is already a VIVA ATM machine in operation in Mexico that issues fiat currency.

I'm sure y'all could think of a dozen more ways this concept could be implemented and take it far beyond my initial ramblings! So, now is the point where questions, suggestions, critiques, and general brainstorming would be useful.

Have at it and invite your friends - the more the merrier!

The concept sounds great. I'm not the quickest when it comes to the intangible side of things though, so would probably need guidance with the online bit.

Thank you! I'm betting you've got company in that regard. I'm not that swift at it either - generally, it's a matter of trial & error learning. ;~D

That's actually helpful info, by the way. We'll need a VERY user friendly online presence, plus we'll need folks to test it out to make sure it's working properly. A team effort is going to be essential in setting up the framework and future operations. An online 'base' is the first step to getting that right. Thanks for the added insight!

Adding insight without meaning to! Woohoo! Lol!

Sometimes unintentional consequences are good things! ;~}

I think it's a fabulous idea!

Thank you! Here's hoping it sprouts... ;~D

Sounds fantastic, going to think about the variety of applications for VIVA. I like the concept, great work🐓

Thanks and I think so, too! I'm eager to see what y'all come up with!

That's a really great idea. I was going to invest in VIVA but then I had to use to money to fix our ancient plumbing. That sounds like a unique and great idea though.

It always seems the money runs out before the need for repairs does. It's just not fair... ;~P

VIVA is definitely different and there will be plenty of time to get onboard when you can. Plus, if this project proves workable, your computer can get those earnings flowing by running the worker node. (I'm hoping I can set up a spare laptop to do just this.) Thanks for your comment and support! It means a lot!
