I often thought about homeschooling my son, the only thing holding me back was when it came time for him to go College or University will they accept that he has the the same education as someone who went to a actual school?

Yes, i actually know people that have done that. If you do not feel comfortable they can always get a GED.
haryballsac If nothing else, mature age entry to university is also possible, after a couple of years work which will set him up with work experience and help bankroll the university education.
