Over 20 years ago I spent a few months in Denver. I was homeless a lot in my teens and early 20's (almost 10 years) and the only place I ever was homeless that I felt like a real human being was in Denver, CO....which is part of the reason I headed here when I become homeless a week ago. In downtown Denver there is a perfect medley of old meets new, well-to-do meets poor. There are homeless galore walking and working the corners along 16th Street Mall. I loved this place 20+ years ago and still do. I hope the videos and pictures below can explain just a little of why Denver is so special to me and many others who are downtrodden.
I've been to Denver twice, but not long enough to walk the streets. Denver is one of the flattest cities in the US and it brews more beer than any other city in the US. Nice photography my friend.
Wow, these are great pictures and really capture the beauty of Denver. The video showed a lot as well. It's a great city with so much opportunity. It's nice to see how far you've come and how successful you are on Steemit. This gives everyone motivation and shows that with a little perseverance, anything is possible :)

I lived right near there on Capitol Hill and worked in many of those buildings during 1993-1994. I was a single mom with a baby walking to work and back home daily. The homeless people would flock to see the baby and touch him and be nice to me and tell me that seeing my son was the highlight of their day. I felt like a celebrity.
One time I was with a work friend and holding my son while we waited for a table outside a restaurant.. A homeless man came and said, "Oh! Can I hold him for a minute?" I let him and stood real close. He was so thankful and just hugged my son so close. My friend almost died and told me I was reckless.
My son turned out to be a friend to all and constantly helps the homeless when he can. I feel very grateful for this time in my life. Thank you for bringing back the memory today. It still looks a beautiful as I remember.
You aren't gonna believe this, but I think that was me.....I was homeless from the mid 80's through the mid 90's. In 93/94 I lived in Denver and hung out on 16th St. I actually remember asking a woman if I could hold her son....he reminded me of myself at that age. Plus I had the hots for the mom....lol!
Not me then. I am not attractive, especially not then. I was the fat lady in accounting.
But seriously - that place is like that. My son went back to see his home when he was 18 and 16th street mall did it for him too. I think it's a protected place. I'm so happy I saw it today. It's a very good memory. So cool you went back like this.
Well poop....lol.....still a small world!
Absolutely. You should post more details of this interesting trip. I'm a homeless nomad myself, so interested :)
WEll I have 9 Homeless posts so far and will continue to do at least 1 a day as long as I am homeless/nomadic. Please join us in #teemnomad on discord....link in post above!
I can't do discord - I tried and do not understand one thing about it. All beeping and colorful and everything I click does nothing. A lady offered to walk me though but I am so busy here already...
It is no harder than Steemit.chat
Great pics at least. Hopefully you are doing ok!
So much of Denver reminds me of Salt Lake when I see these pictures.
