Scary note under the door, we're out of time.
When we got back from the park there was a note under the door.
We have exceeded the number of days allowed to stay at the family shelter. We must leave by noon, Thursday, the 15th.
To say we're having anxiety over this is an understatement.
We have an appointment to view an apartment tomorrow morning.
Please, cross all of your fingers and toes for us. If we end up back in our camper, we will be right back to where we were with CPS hot on our tails.
I can't believe a shelter is kicking out a family in the dead of winter. No way this would happen in Canada, even when shelter gets full here they shuttle the overflow to other shelters. They wouldn't do this to a single intoxicated man in Canada never mind a family. Here is my upvote good luck

I SO hope that the apartment accepts you as renters. What CPS has done to you is horrendous, and of course it is incredibly stressful.
If you lived locally, I would open up my home for your family myself.
Praying that this situation resolves quickly.
Have you spoken to someone about the letter? many places will treat human beings as just case file numbers until forced to humanize the situation, when they have a face (or faces) before them that illusion can be broken and we find the empathy compassion and understanding that person has, its not always as we think though. Requested an extension with the promise of looking for an apartment, just to make sure you are not without during the transition.
I would suggest you also put the request in writing to create a paper trail that can be looked back on if need be. If you need assistance formulating a strongly worded letter let me know im somewhat of a wordsmith when i need to be and am happy to help out where i can.
Arrgh!!! This is again why the System is so awfully terrible. How long would it take CPS to find out you were back in the camper? Would you have a few weeks to continue looking at apartments, do you think?
Another way to help these posts get more followers (besides everyone here resteeming!) and upvotes/SBD would be to make sure your tags get your posts the most exposure you can. I wish I could do this for you! The tags actually place your posts into like topics, so if you use your own tags your posts will be the only ones there. Tagging your post "Family Protection", for instance, would group your posts with theirs.
