The Horn of Africa (HOA) formerly known as Bilad Barbar, is a unique segment on the African continent. The region was originally occupied by the Barbaroi (Barbers) but later on the Colonial British Masters renamed it after learning that it has a shape of a horn. Currently, the region is made up of four different countries: Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Eritrea.
To cut the story short, Geologist has reported that the End of the magnificent African Horn has just dawned.
Over the past few days, transport has been crippled in Kenya, along Narok-Mai Mahiu road after a huge section of the earth split. The incident was confirmed through a statement by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) director, “The Mai Mahiu-Suswa road section that had on Tuesday been affected by volcanic fault line has dipped again, thus cutting off the road for the second time. Heavy commercial vehicles are currently not able to cross the section.”
The Kenyan Daily Nation Newspaper published today that the Somalia plate has been drifting away from the Nubian plate at an annual rate of 2.3cm. But as we are talking, the Horn is no more. The section of the African soil that is going to rift away to form a new continent (something than has not experienced in about 50 million years) are: Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania and Half of Ethiopia.
