SLC S23W4/Puppets
I am pleased to participate in 4th week of SLC Season 23. I love learning from these Challenges. This week Iwe will be learning "Puppets". So Let's start,
We have prepared two puppets.
- King of the Jungle Lion and
- Smart Rabbit
Below I am sharing the step by step preparation of these two puppets.
- Cloth
- Scissors
- Needle
- Thread
- Chalk

Making Process of Lion Puppet

- To make the lion puppet, I first took a cotton cloth of similar color to the lion. Then I folded the cloth. After folding, I took measurements with my hands. Here, I do not need a separate measuring tape for the measurements because we can do it with our own hands. Then I marked the measurements with pink chalk so that I can cut the cloth along these lines later.

- Then I cut it according to the shape with the help of sharp scissors. After cutting, it seems that it will come out in a nice shape.

- Then, using a needle and thread, I sewed the gloves all around. After sewing, I straightened the gloves so that the sewn side was inside.

- Then I cut the cloth in a round shape to make the lion's face. Also, I cut the cloth into thin pieces to a specific size to make the lion's mane. Here, I will use two colors to make the mane, so I added orange color.

- In this step, I added the manes around the round cloth with the help of glue to make the lion's mane. To strengthen it, I attached another round cloth on top. And finally I attached it with the globes. Our lion puppet is almost ready.
- Finally, I used a black marker to draw the lion's eyes, nose, and mouth. Let me know how my lion puppet turned out.
Making Process of Rabbit Puppet

- To make the rabbit puppet, I first took a white shopping bag. Then I folded it. After folding it, I measured it with my hand. Then I marked the measurements with pink chalk so that I could follow these lines. Then I cut it with scissors. My rabbit shape is ready.

- Then I drew two ears of the rabbit with the shape. I attached it with the help of a neddle and white thread. My rabbit globe is ready.

- Finally I made a round shape for the face and attached it with glue to the globes. I drew the eyes and mouth with a black marker. Since it is a rabbit, I gave it a pink shade.
How many puppets did they make? What character do you think you could do with him?
I took my seven-year-old nephew along to participate here. First, I got some ideas from him about puppet characters. In the meantime, we decided to make a lion and a rabbit puppet. We made 2 puppets. I have made a breave lion and a cleaver Rabit. The character of the lion is very strong and brave, while the character of the rabbit is clever. Since he is a child and he is quite smart for his age, I gave him the character of the rabbit and I decided to play the character of the lion. I think he will be able to play the character of the rabbit very well. I think this character of the rabbit will go well with children.
Did you find it very difficult to make the puppet? How was your experience overall?
No, neither I nor my nephew had any problems making the puppets, but we were very happy and enjoyed it. I have always loved making crafts and I was very happy to make them. To be honest, at first it seemed a little complicated, especially the lion's mane. I first cut it thickly and then realized that I had to cut it and thin it again. It was an amazing and creative experience for me. It was the first time I made something like this, although I have done many types of crafting before but never made puppets. My nephew enjoyed using different materials and laughed a lot while making the puppets. He was very excited about the long ears of the rabbit. One of the best moments was when my nephew made lion-like noises and rabbit-like faces, which I found very enjoyable.
Did the child like doing this activity? What did you enjoy the most?
Not just like, he loved it. Yes! My nephew loved every part of the puppet making.
After making the globes, he played with them for a while and then I got to work on the faces. We both played with them for a long time after making them. As I mentioned, his favorite parts were the lion's mane and the rabbit's ears.

Consideración:
Has indicado correctamente los materiales a utilizar para la elaboración del títere.
Has explicado los pasos que hiciste para la elaboración del títere, utilizando la tela o paño para el león y una bolsa para el conejo.
El resultado final quedó muy lindo y muy creativo.
Has compartido que realizaste esta actividad junto a tu sobrino de 7 años y que te dio algunas ideas de los títeres a realizar. Ninguno de los dos tuvo problemas ni dificultades al hacer las marionetas y disfrutaron usando diferentes materiales.
Observaciones y sugerencias:
Para una mejor apreciación del paso a paso, hubiese sido bueno enumerar cada uno.
Me habría gustado verte a ti y al niño en algunas de las evidencias fotográficas del proceso de elaboración.
Solo pude observar al niño en el vídeo, sin embargo, para esta actividad no se pidió evidencias en video.
