Abid Ali The Only Batsman Who Scored Centuries Both of His Debut Test and ODI

Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batsman Abid Ali made his ODI debut against Australia, 29 March 2019. He played his debut match on the eve of the World Cup. In that match before returning to the dressing room, he played an innings of 112 off 119 balls with nine fours. However, even after his century, Pakistan had to lose by 7 runs due to the failure of middle-order batsmen.

After scoring a century in his debut ODI, he also scored a century in his Test debut. Nearly ten years later 11 December 2019 Pakistan hosted a test series at home. He played an unbeaten 109-run innings against Sri Lanka. He got the chance to bat on the last day of the rain-interrupted Test match in Rawalpindi and scored a fabulous century to make it to the record.

Despite 106 cricketers in Test and 15 cricketers in ODI debut scored centuries in the history of cricket, Abid Ali is the only batsman to score a century in both of his Test and ODI debut. The funny part is that in both matches his opening partner Shan Masood returned with zero runs in the two innings that hit his century.
