I hope you all are well. First of all I would like to thank @doctorstrips for organizing this contest. In fact, through this contest we have been given an opportunity to share the vowel letters in our mother tongue. It's really good.

I am from Sri Lanka. So my mother tongue is Sinhala. There are 18 vowels in the Sinhala language. Those 18 vowels I have written above in my own handwriting. Below are those vowels that I handwritten.
"අ, ආ, ඇ, ඈ, ඉ, ඊ, උ, ඌ, එ, ඒ, ඔ, ඕ, ඖ, සෘ, සෲ, ඏ, ඐ"

These 18 vowels are divided into short vowels and long vowels. It is divided into two parts according to how the letter sounds. From the letters above, the letters that take longer to pronounce are called long vowels. Those short vowels and long vowels are given separately below.

Sinhala is a very special language. I think sinhala has a lot of vowels compared to other languages. That is why there are a lot of sinhala words. In English language, there are only 5 vowels. Here are some of the features of the vowels in the sinhala language:

• Some of the 18 vowels mentioned above are made up of a few vowels by joined. The following are the vowel letters thus formed.

• The other specialty is the presence of the vowels "අ, ඇ and ඈ" in the Sinhala language which are not found in any other language. These three vowels are very important for pronouncing most words well.

It is because of these vowels that a person who knows Sinhala is able to pronounce any other language very accurately.

Also, I have presented the English vowels related to the Sinhala vowels below.

You may find something special here. Several Sinhala vowels have the same English vowel.
