Meet me again @hidayat96, and this afternoon I am here to take part in a contest organized by @jenesa with the theme: "Share And Talk About A Particular Dish That Reminds You of Home".

Alright friends, below I will discuss about a dish that always makes me miss home, namely "Kuah Pliek Ue" (Typical Cuisine from Aceh).

How do you cook 'Kuah Pliek Ue' (Acehnese curry)?
In this article I will explain to all of you about the tutorial on how to cook "Kuah Pliek Ue"easily and certainly no less delicious with other curry dishes.

Gulai "Pliek Ue" is a very popular Acehnese dish with a combination of various flavors and is rich in vitamins and several substances that can increase immunity. The recipe for "Kuah pliek Ue" is an ancestral heritage of the Acehnese people with a distinctive taste that is rich in spices. In addition, Gulai Pliek Ue is a dish that symbolizes the kinship and diversity of the Acehnese. Gulai Pliek Ue does sound foreign to other regions, but not to Aceh. Because this dish is indeed the most typical culinary in Aceh. For this "Pliek Ue"curry recipe, many vegetables are used and different areas in Aceh add vegetables.

In general, this dish is equipped with melinjo leaves and fruit, long beans, papaya, and peanuts. The hallmark of Acehnese cuisine is the use of "Asam Sunti" as a sour and refreshing taste. Below I will give you the recipe for "Kuah pliek ue" (a typical Aceh curry dish).

To be able to make "Kuah pliek Ue" in this post we only need 32 ingredients. So please prepare in advance the ingredients as I mentioned below:

  • Prepare the spices (Pliek ue) which are mashed.
  • Prepare 7 cloves of red onion.
  • Prepare 3 cloves of garlic.
  • Prepare 7 pieces of red chili.
  • Prepare cayenne pepper (adjust to your taste).
  • prepare 1 inch Ginger
  • Prepare cilantro 1/2 teaspoon
  • prepare cumin 1/4 teaspoon.
  • prepare just enough pepper.
  • Prepare turmeric to taste.
  • Prepare 1 teaspoon of red chili powder.
  • Prepare 2 tablespoons of coconut.
  • prepare Patarana/'Pliek Ue' (according to taste) or 3 tablespoons.
  • Prepare 1 inch of galangal (crushed).
  • prepare the chopped ingredients.
  • prepare 3 lemongrass stalks and chop as finely as possible.
  • Prepare 6 pieces of lime leaves.
  • prepare 2 pieces of chopped Kencong / Kala flowers.
  • prepare curry leaves or 'oen Teumurui' in finely chopped.
  • Prepare the vegetables.
  • Prepare 1/4 kg of young jackfruit (cat's eye), cut into small pieces.
  • prepare 4 bunches of chopped Melinjo leaves.
  • Prepare 1 ounce of young Melinjo fruit.
  • Prepare 1 banana heart.
  • prepare young Kates / Mengkal (cut into small pieces, the size of jackfruit)
  • Prepare 1 ounce of long beans and cut into 1/2 inch pieces.
  • Prepare 5 green chilies, cut into small pieces.
  • prepare 1/4 kg of small shrimp that have been cleaned.
  • prepare 2 coconuts.
  • prepare 1 kg of Sumpil / Cue.
  • prepare salt to taste.
  • prepare enough water.

5 Guidance on how to cook "Kuah Pliek Ue".

If you have prepared the ingredients that I have mentioned above, then take a look at the steps to cook "Kuah Pilek Ue" below:

  1. Jackfruit, Sumpil, ground spices, finely chopped ingredients, Salt and add a little boiled water for a while so that the spices absorb.

  2. Add the Banana heart in the stew, then stir and wait until it boils.

  3. After the jackfruit and banana heart are soft, then add the liquid coconut milk, and stir until it boils. Then add the melinjo fruit and green chilies. Then add the coconut milk and stir constantly until it boils. After that add the shrimp, melinjo leaves, and the chopped long beans. And and stirred.

  4. After boiling, then add the cut kates, wait until it boils and turn off the heat. And "kuah plik Ue" is ready to be served.

  5. For the banana heart, clean first, take the soft inside, then wash, soak with salt for 1 minute. Then wash clean.

  • For the coconut that I mentioned above, just take the coconut milk, then take it and separate the coconut milk starch and the liquid coconut milk.

  • For cue/sumpil if there is and like to add it, cut the ends, wash thoroughly, then add salt and soak for 1 minute, then wash thoroughly.
