Vitamin D and its correlation with lowered COVID-19 mortality

Vitamin D3

After watching this video, we find that an optimum level to combat the worst effects of COVID-19 is to achieve a Vitamin D level of 50 ng/ml. To achieve this level, you need to have both Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2. The formula to determine the correct amount of Vitamin D is as follows:

Body Mass in Kilograms * 60 if you prefer metric
or
Basic daily vitamin D dosage = Body mass in pounds * 27

Metric

Body Mass CalculationCalculationDaily Vitamin D (IU)
90 kg adult90 x 605400
45 kg teenager45 x 602700
22.5 kg child22.5 x 601350

Imperial

Body Mass CalculationCalculationDaily Vitamin D (IU)
200 pound adult200 x 275400
100 pound teenager100 x 272700
50 pound child50 x 271350

This calculation works for any size of a person, any age, male or female (pregnancy included). Using this formula, it is easy to determine what the daily requirement of Vitamin D. I go grocery shopping each week making this the only point of exposure that I am at greatest risk. Consequently, I double my dosage the evening before or the morning of my shopping.

Vitamin K2

One of the roles of Vitamin D is that it helps the transport of calcium. By itself, it will put calcium into your soft tissues. This causes cataracts in the eyes and hardening of the arteries. Vitamin K2 makes sure the Vitamin D2 moves the calcium into your teeth and bones - the hard tissues. Unfortunately, I haven't found a good calculator to recommend dosages. I did find this information in this article How to combine vitamin D and vitamin K properly:

People who take anticoagulant medications minimum supply for healthy people under the age of 50, who do not take additional vitamin D3 as a dietary supplement: 45 mcg vitamin K2 per day

Healthy people under the age of 50, who do not take any additional vitamin D3 or all people, who take up to 2500 IU Vitamin D per day: 100 mcg vitamin K2 per day

People with a family history of cardiovascular disease or osteoporosis or who have first symptoms of cardiovascular disease or osteoporosis or who take more than 2500 IU Vitamin D per day: 200 mcg Vitamin K2 per day:

Since there hasn't been a case of Vitamin K2 toxicity (there is with K3), I would assume that it is safe to increase the Vitamin K2 to by 200 mcg per day for each additional 2500 IU of Vitamin D3. Keep in mind, I am neither a doctor nor a nutritionist. If you develop a rash, this isn't an overdose but a reaction so step back from this. Also, the half-life of Vitamin K2 is quite short so having it multiple times in a day is better than one single dose.

Whether a person has been vaccinated or not, I find this evidence compelling and would ask if you read this to refer this article to two other people.

Much appreciated.

We can get vitamin D from the sun. I suppose that during the winter in some countries they do not have the possibility to obtain this vitamin through the sun. So this is a great article.

Vitamin D deficiency, when serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D is lower than 25 nmol/L, occurs in risk groups all over the world, mainly in the Middle East, China, Mongolia, and India. Risk groups for poor vitamin D status are children especially those with low birth weight, adolescents, pregnant women, older persons, and non-Western immigrants. A vitamin D status can be considered adequate (serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D >50 nmol/L) in less than 50% of the world population at least in winter.
Worldwide Vitamin D Status

Part of it is lack of sun, some of it is cultural (see the Middle East). I think a some of it has to do with the amount of time that people spend at work.
