Greetings to Steem Skillshare community as well as just to everyone who is reading my post! This is a series of posts about what skills a professional artist should have, what difficulties await him and what is special about his work in general.

Today I would like to focus separately on such a format as a solo concert. This is a special event in the life of every artist, especially if the artist performs his own songs at the concert.

Preparation for a concert can take months, because the artist needs to think through a lot of important things. If you are not a star of the first magnitude, then not only a high-quality performance at the concert will fall on you, but also the entire preparatory part. This includes the rental of the hall, the technical support of the event, and the promotion.

Especially the promotion, because if you are unknown then no one will go to your concert without good advertising. It is often difficult for a creative person to engage in self-promotion. Rarely do any of the artists have more than just the skill of performance but also the ability to sell yourself.

If you don't know how to sell yourself, you need to find a person who will help you do it. Accordingly, then you will need to share money with him. And with the musicians who play with you too. And do not forget to pay for the rent of the hall and equipment. You can take the rest of the money for yourself, but there is hardly anything left. Even most likely you will even have some debts.

There is one huge advantage in the concert which covers all the disadvantages combined. Your own concert is a huge event, the memory of it is priceless and you will remember it for all your life, regardless of whether you played it well or badly.
