Date Night with Hubby

Since the time I have travelled to India it has been a constant hectic time, with lots of short journeys which are all work related. I was telling my hubby last weekend that since the time we have come we have hardly spent some relaxed moments. Though the travelling has been refreshing to some mountain side places where we have been looking out for land for our future home, but still being on the road all the time does get hectic.

Last weekend luckily we had nothing planned and we were both home so we decided to go out for dinner and spend some good time. I had a place in mind where I have been wanting to go for a long time, we did not have reservation there since we made a last minute plan, this place which is called Opa, they normally do not take people without reservation, anyways we thought we will give it a try, we went there, the lady told us we can wait for 15 to 20 mins and try our luck, but guess luck was not very strong that day and we had to face disappointment. This place Opa is a restaurant with a Greek Theme, one of a kind in the city. Anyways we had no choice but to look for alternative. The next option was another Restaurant next door called Bastian. It is a nice place, but nothing unique about it like Opa.

I enjoyed clicking some pictures of self after a very long time, else normally I end up clicking pictures of the surroundings only. This time it was more of me and less of the outside 😍

The Restaurant is huge and it has been very artistically designed. The Bar goes straight up till the ceiling and then there is a small lift kind of thing to move up and down. This place was initially a mill area and hence it has very huge ceilings. Most of the old mills now in Mumbai are either getting converted to Shopping malls or Restaurants, since with the new players coming into the market these old mills are almost dead. The owners of these Mills are making a fortune by selling it to the new builders who are converting these places into big supermarkets, malls and restaurants.

The DJ is sitting right up there playing some nice funky music. Sometime more than the food it is just about visiting these places and enjoying the ambiance and the lively vibe of the place.

Look at these fans, they are so unique, they do work at a very slow pace, but they are there not for the breeze, but to just give it a very funky look.

The ambiance and the food both are good in Bastian. We wanted to have some light food and not eat anything heavy. With some drinks we ordered 2 appetizers and that was more than enough for the 2 of us.
