Weeklyfoodcontest : How to make delicious Indian Snacks - Hot 'Samosa' in Bengali style

Hi everyone. hope all of you are good in this pandemic.

I have tried to cook a lot of recipes at home in this lock down period. I like to cook new recipes. I made hot "Singara" this evening. In Hindi it is called "samosa".

It is a very famous snack in India. This Snack is sold every day in the morning and afternoon in the sweet shops on the streets and I think we all indian like it a lot.

So,today I am sharing this recipe with you all.Let's take a look at my hot bengali style "Singara" recipe

Step - 1

(Dough preparation)

Ingredients:-

  1. Flour - 200gm
  2. Salt - 1/2 tsp
  3. Suger - 1/2 tsp
  4. Oil - 4 tsp

1st step

Take a clean bowl , Pour 200gm flour, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp sugar in the bowl one by one. Then add 4 tsp oil and then mix the ingredients.

2st step

After mixing all the things well, when you fist in your hand, a shape will come and that shape will not break. Then you have to understand that the amount of oil is right.

3rd step

Then add water to making the dough , don't use more water . I used 1/2 cup water .

4th step

Now, mix it well.

The dough is ready

Now, cover the dough with a wet cloth and keep a side for 1 hour.

Step - 2

( Stuffing preparation )

Ingredients:-

  1. Red Chili 🌶️ - 1
  2. Panch phoron - 1/2 tsp
    (Fenugreek seed, nigella seed, cumin seed, black mustard seed and fennel seed= Panch phoron)
    3.PeaNuts

At first on the gass , heat a pan in medium flame.
Fry a Red chili for 10sec and then add Panch phoron, fry them lightly.

Now, grind the fried red chili and panch phoron.

2nd, heat 3 tsp oil on the pan and add peanuts for fry.

Step - 3

( Stuffing preparation)

Ingredients:-

1.Green chili- 2
2.Ginger paste - 1 tsp
3.Potato - 2
4.Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
5.Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
6.Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
7.Salt - 1/2 tsp
8.Suger - 1/2 tsp

Mashala

At first,cut the potatoes in small pieces.

Then,
place a kadai on the gass,, heat the kadai and add oil. After heating the oil..add the fried mashala , and fry for few seconds.

Now,add ginger paste and green chillies.fry them again.

Now add the potato pieces and the mashalas -

i)

v) Garam Masala powder

Mix the all things well, after few seconds add 1/2 cup water for boiling

Now cover the kadai , keep the flame low for 10min.

After 10 /15 min , mash the potatoes and add the fried peanuts.

The stuffing is ready

Step - 4

It is very enjoyable step .. but do it carefully. Follow my instructions step by step. When the stuffing will completely cool down, we'll use ,

Now , make balls from the dough to make structure of samosa.

Roll it into oval shape

Cut into 2 equal part

Take a part and fold it like this

Apply few drops of water to fold it.

Seal it properly

vi)fill the cone with stuffing

vii)Seal the two portion with few drop of water

I know, it is so hard to understand the structure making process, that's why, just for all of you I am sharing video of this recipe at last of my post. I hope the video will be helpful .

Step - 5

This the last step and very easy , so let's start.

Heat the kadai and pour a cup of oil to fry the samosa.

Great my friend , next time when you will prepare samosa add pinch of Asafetida and dry mango powder, while making potato stuffing samosa this is an important ingredient 😊👍
