Day 5 )Portuguese coastal pilgrimage road to Santiago - 담 사잇길이 유난히 많아

언제 비가 내렸냐는 듯 날씨가 화창하다. 순례길 옆으로 웃긋불긋한 철 조형물이 순례자의 발길을 붙든다. 조형물 저쪽 편으로 대서양의 푸른 물결이 넘실거린다.

The weather is sunny today as if it didn't rain at all yesterday. The red iron sculpture next to the pilgrimage trail holds the pilgrims' feet. The blue waves of the Atlantic Ocean float beyond the sculpture.

오늘 순례길은 유독 담이 많았다. 담과 담 사이의 응달진 길을 걸어가니 서늘한 기분마저 든다. 저 담 너머에는 무엇이 있을까? 산 자와 죽은 자 사이에도 이러한 차원의 벽이 존재하지 않을까?

Today's pilgrimage route had many walls. Walking down the shady road between the wall and the wall, I even felt cool. What's beyond that wall? There are doubts about the existence of such a dimensional wall between the living and the dead.

포르투갈 해안 순례길에는 순례자가 거의 없었다. 그런 와중에서 이탈리아인 3인방과는 수시로 앞서거니 뒤서거니 만나기를 반복했다. 피곤하여 어느 바(bar)에 들렀는데 그곳에 이탈리아 3인방이 있었다. 정겹게 포옹으로 인사하고 콜라를 한 잔 마셨는데 그 값을 이탈리아인이 계산해 버렸다. 순례길은 배려가 충만한 곳이었다.

There were few pilgrims on the Portuguese coastal pilgrimage route. In the midst of that, the Italian trio often went ahead and followed up and met again. Tired, I stopped by a bar, where there was an Italian trio. We greeted each other with a friendly hug and drank a glass of cola, and the Italians calculated the price. The pilgrimage route was a place full of consideration.

순례길 군데군데 피어있는 야생화가 나의 피곤한 발을 어루만져 주는 듯 했다. 아름다운 야생화를 보려고 발길을 멈췄다가 그냥 길 가운데 절퍼덕 주저앉아 휴식을 취하곤 했다.

Wildflowers in various places on the pilgrimage route seemed to touch my tired feet. I would stop to see the beautiful wildflowers, then just sit down in the middle of the street to relax.

촌 구석의 후미진 길이 순례길이다. 그곳에는 물레방앗간이 있어 그런대로 낭만이 있었지만 어제 내렸던 비로 길이 질퍼덕하여 신발이 다 젖어버렸다.

A trail in the corner of the village is a pilgrimage route. There was a watermill there, so it was romantic, but the rain that had rained yesterday made the roads flutter and all my shoes got wet.

낭만적인 순례길을 걸어 포르투갈 해안 순례길 주변마을 중에서 제법 큰 도시에 속하는 앙코라(Ancora)에 도착했다. 그곳 해변에 있는 제법 큰 호스텔(Hostel)에서 여장을 풀었다. 밤 공기가 시원했다.

I walked on a romantic pilgrimage route and arrived at Ancora, one of the larger cities of the Portuguese coastal pilgrimage route. There, I undressed in a fairly large hostel on the beach. The night air was cool.
