Hello everyone and welcome to my engagement challenge post on the contest Take/Snap a Picture and Draw. Having the opportunity to choose what to draw was quite a flex and I'm happy to share with you all my good, not so good drawing.

What I Understand by Drawing

---

For me if you are not writing letters, you are drawing. Drawing is an animate or inanimate representation of something you've seen, or imagined. That is when we place eyes on an object, we try to represent or remake that object by drawing it.

Drawing is thought to children alongside writing because it helps sharpen the brain. These days, drawing has different ways it's done. It's no longer strictly pencil and eraser. Now there are pen drawings, pencil drawings and digital drawing. No matter how the drawing is done, it all boils down to the point that it is the representation of an object or thing seen, felt or imagined.

A Picture of what I decided to Draw

Above is a picture of what I decided to draw. As you can see it's a door with a wall clock hanging over it. This is a section of my home and funny enough my father decided to hang a wall clock Infront of the door leading to the bedroom. I chose this image because it looks rather simple and interesting the me.

My Drawing Process

So first of all what I did was to get my pen, pencil and eraser ready. My pen was doubling as my ruler because I didn't have a ruler at my disposal. Secondly I took the picture of the door and began drawing.

I started with the door door frames before going to the door, then the surroundings tiles and lastly the wall clock. I used the pen to then wrote my username and date on my drawing.

Challenges Faced:

• Getting the door frame wasn't easy at all. It took most of my time since I wanted all the lines straight.

• My Pencil because blunt some point and I didn't have a sharpener at my disposal so my that made my drawing not to look bold and neat.

• I had distractions from people at home. I would draw and then leave it and go do something or attend to someone. This made me to focus.

• I couldn't get the tiles on the floor to align correctly.

• No color pencils or crayons available at my disposal.

Rate Myself

For someone who almost never takes out time to draw I did pretty good at drawing the object I chose. I'll give myself a 7/10 for this piece of artwork. I think I can continue with drawing. They do say learning never ends so I can learn how to draw if I commit to the task. So guys you too should rate me and tell me if drawing might be my thing or not.

How would I feel if someone else took a picture of me and drew

---

I'll feel so so special. I've already had someone take a picture of me and drawn before. That was way back in 2018. The drawing stayed with the said person and I only received the picture on my phone so I no longer have it. Nevertheless the feeling is a special feeling. But then I'll be curious to see if the person highlights my perfections or imperfections.

Possibilities of me taking drawing as a Profession...

---

No I don't think I would take drawing as a profession even if I had everything at my disposal. This is because there are many other things I am passionate about and if I were to add being a professional artist then that will be at the very bottom of the list. I do love drawing but I love it as a pass time.

How I feel after drawing

Has doing this drawing exercise helped my personal growth? Yes it has! Trust me I had so much to do today and I've been stressed and feeling so tired to the point that I felt sick. But then when I decided to start drawing, I found myself lost in the moment and forgetting almost everything. Even with the distractions I still didn't realize I had been tired before. I just kept looking forward to continuing my drawing.

So doing this drawing exercise has helped me relax and detach from hectic day for a few minutes.
